Rapture

Speaking binds us
to the words we use, even
misconstrued ones—

            or worse—

words heard and interpreted correctly. Speech
sets thought into permanent space.

Entitled

Sometimes I pretend
I'm the only one that cares
about something—

                        or even knows it exists—

just so that I feel special, so that I feel
like I am something

everyone else is not.

Repression

A mark across
            an expressionless face—
                        eyes

that search
for a remnant thread.
